HELLO !

I'm John Quirk, I use he/him pronouns.
I like to experiment with animation, learn, teach and
build things that are fun to make.
If they're fun to look at too, that's great !
I've been a part of the Boston independent film community for several years, producing multiple collaborative projects with the GOLEM Collective.
During my bachelor's studies at Massachusetts College of Art & Design, I began teaching animation courses in the Youth Programs, and upon graduating, I was brought on as an adjunct professor there, concurrently working as an assistant teacher in Harvard's Visual Environmental Studies department and freelancing.
After completing my master's studies at The Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn, I did a pair of residencies in Scotland, focusing on site-specific community-oriented projects, and sustainable animation practices, and have since returned to Boston to get back to full-time teaching, learning, and making.
I'm currently unavailable for freelance animation work,
but am available for creative consultation by appointment.
Feel free to send me a 'hello!'
